25^th RBCT Charity Relay Run a Huge Success

The RBCT Charity Relay Run celebrated its 25^th anniversary on Sunday, 26 July 2008 with more than 2 700 runners and walkers participating in this event. A highlight on the region’s athletics calendar and the largest sporting event in Zululand, the charity relay run drew 668 teams to this year’s race.

This year, the charity relay run raised R100 000.00 for local charities, which in turn, will put these donations to good use in their respective operations in a range of interventions that have a far-reaching and positive impact in the local communities within which RBCT operates.

RBCT would like to thank all the sponsors who contributed to making the day a success. Congratulations and thank you to all the runners and walkers who participated in this year’s event.

The charity relay will take place again next year on Sunday, 25 July 2010.

The annual charity event is organised by RBCT with all proceeds raised from the entry fees and site bookings donated to deserving charities in the area.
