RBCT injects R533.000.00 to community development
The Richards Bay Coal Terminal recently donated R533.000.00 to fifteen charity organisations based in Richards Bay and surrounding communities in an effort to uplift communities in various ways. Fifteen representatives from these organisations happily converged to RBCT to witness the donations handover function and to receive these annual donations to improve the lives of the needy in their communities.
Addressing the gathering RBCT Chief Executive Officer Terry Howarth said, “RBCT’s commitment to community development is far from loosing its direction.” He further stated that it is encouraging to meet charity organisation representatives so happy about the role RBCT is playing in community development. “ I am impressed with progress made so far while the need for community development is far from over.” Terry’s speech reminded each one of the representatives gathered at RBCT to ask himself or herself, what contribution he or she is making to the community.
Following the CEO’s speech, RBCT Corporate Social Involvement (CSI) Officer, Millicent Madida said, “ We trust that these funds will go a long way in assisting you in all the wonderful work that you do in your communities.” Expressing words of gratitude all representatives cheerfully echoed the CEO’s speech and acknowledged the role played by RBCT in the lives of the needy in surrounding communities.
