The SATAWU strike at Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT), which lasted for 9 days, came to an end last night. The union officials finally accepted RBCT’s offer of 9.5% and signed a 3- year wage agreement. "We are pleased that the agreement has been reached with our union members. They have accepted our original offer of 9.5% wage increases. We can now put all this behind us and focus our energies on moving coal, to the benefit of all our stakeholders," said Raymond Chirwa, RBCT CEO.
